Is Xavier's the only place to get training in our powers?

Hell no. Depends on what powers you have anyway. You can find someone with a similar skill set and get them to help if you can't figure them out yourself.

So it's like an apprenticeship system?

Yeah, you're just not stuck with their job once it's over.

What powers do you have?

They're all computer based. [ That's a lie, but two out of three isn't bad. ]

It'd be amazing if I could use them, but I don't know what could go wrong while I'm learning.

[ Sorry there's like a half hour pause here as Cadel pours over them and forgets he's supposed to be socializing. Up until he has questions, anyway. ]

There's a neural interface? Does that wire to you directly since you're an AI?

I guess so. I don't want to try it indiscriminately and do something dangerous by accident, like turn all the traffic lights green.

Yeah it does. Other people can wear the damn thing but it doesn't do much for them if they don't have the right hardware installed.

Have you tried taking some equipment out to a field or something? You could figure out the range of your powers, it can't be infinite.

So it's designed for you. That's amazing. You must be able to receive incredibly sophisticated input that human brains wouldn't be able to handle.

I think it might be easier with electronics I've worked with a lot before, too. But I didn't come with anything, so I have to build up a familiarity... I'll end up in a field for testing eventually.

Not just for me, but it's hardly common tech. I should send you some of the input I get next time I'm out in the field.

Is the tech all that different here?

It's weird. The wiring is all different. I think they went somewhere else in their course of development over the past couple decades, but I need to take out some books to find out.

Hell no and if it is, I'll cut it out. I can send you readouts from a sparring match even, that's more likely to happen sooner than a big op.

You'll find plenty of libraries and materials over that then.
