[ She nudges his shoulder with hers and teases, ] Hell, I might even let you live long enough for a second.

[ If he even wants one. This is uncharted territory for her beyond her own, biased experiences with Church. ]

[ That was the right answer. Miles immediately brightens at the thought, a stupid grin running from ear to ear. ]

I would be delighted.

Only if you promise to bring explosives next time. [ There's another flash of a smile as she lifts her glass. ] And more wine.

I can certainly arrange both of these things. Plentiful amounts thereof.

You won't hear me complaining.

[ He's not her usual physical type. Not by a long shot if Church is the benchmark. But he's one of the more interesting imPorts that have arrived recently. First one she's gone on a date with and he's put more work into it than she can recall anyone doing for her, without expectation of something in return.

She watches him out of the corner of her eyes as she waits a beat as she drains her glass and sets it out of the way. Her fingertips brush against the hand closest to her before she rests hers gently over it. They're not making a trip to the ER or one of his healers because she accidentally squeezed his hand too tightly. ]

[ Another sharp little intake of breath at that. He's absolutely nervous now, not having done this since a disastrous relationship at sixteen, on Beta Colony. (He'd delighted at first when she'd taken joy in his physical form rather than dread. Then, despaired as he realized that that was all she'd enjoyed. Would that be all he was ever good for in a relationship, to be a twisted physical novelty with no personhood of his own--)

Breathe, dammit. Tex hasn't shown any signs of that. He squeezes back firmly, in defiance of any risk it might pose to his bones. ]

Then ... what about tonight?

[ Dryly: ] It's not over yet.

[ Beyond showing up here for their date, she hasn't planned any part of this out. Instinct is all she has to go by and while she has hard limits of how far she'll go... Her gaze goes from their entwined hands to his lips. How different would it be kissing someone else? She knows at least Miles isn't programmed with some underlying obsession with her and couldn't give a damn that she's an AI herself.

With her free hand, she reaches to cup his cheek and turn him towards her. It'd make it a helluva lot easier to kiss him. ]

[ Miles' heart practically leaps into his throat. Excited, terrified, exhilarated - he decides immediately that he likes tall women very much. With a quick apology and reassurance to Gregor - everything's okay, not sure you want to feel this - he leans up to meet her. An enthusiastic kisser, for sure, and attentive. Trying to sync up with her response to him, to ensure he's doing something she likes. (Reaching his hand up to rest gently on the side of her face is mostly for him, though.) ]

[ Her hand has long left his face now that he's got the idea, instead resting on his shoulder. He's eager, she'll give him that, and she's smiling as she sets the tone. Her lips, firm and forceful against his, pull back after a long moment with a parting nip at his bottom lip. It's strange having this much height difference between them, but she'll make do.

The tips of her fingers trail across his collarbone and play idly with the collar of his shirt. His bones might need delicate care, but his skin can't be the same way. ] I can leave you a souvenir.

[ Forceful is good. He loves the feeling of being wanted - can't really say no to it, in fact. If she asked him to strip out of his clothes right now they'd be off in a flash. As it is a thrill goes through him just from her suggesting that. He finds the height differential to be rather thrilling too, if a bit awkward. ]

Generous of you. By all means, as many as you like.

You're really giving me a blank check? [ There's amusement in her voice and she's moving into a more comfortable position for this. Rather than twisting to towards him, she rests a knee on either side of him so she can simply lean down over him.

And since he doesn't seem to mind her plans, she traces a finger over her chosen slot - where his neck meets shoulder. Fabric is pulled back as her mouth zeroes in on the spot, all teeth and hard pulls. She intends to leave a good mark there, the only gentle part about it the kiss that she leaves when finished. ]

[ In return, Miles lies back against the blanket. Horizontal like this the height differential isn't quite so awkward (or exhilarating, alas). He shivers as her mouth makes contact - shivers more the rougher it is, Miles adores physicality on so many levels - and skates his hands up her back in response. Resting here at the small of it, fingers digging lightly into her spine. ]

Yes - yes. Paid in full upon receipt.

[ She arches her back into his touch and briefly wonders what the hell she's even doing. No one's here but them and that privacy adds to the moment. What it adds exactly, she still hasn't pinpointed. She reaches up to run her hand through his short hair.

Lips hovering just above his new mark, she murmurs, ] Don't think you're going much farther than this.

[ It's more a light warning, should his hand decide to feel too adventurous. ]

[ Warning taken and heeded. He keeps his hands right where they are, though his breathing continues to hitch and heave. He risks leaning upwards briefly to kiss the hollow of her neck, through clothing if he must. ]

I leave the decision entirely in your hands. [ But he can't help but add - ] You are - amazing, thus far. I admire your spirit.

[ Her nails run lightly against his scalp and snorts. ] Yeah, I don't think my spirit has anything to do with this.

[ Her eyes drift down towards the mark she left once more. She'll have to consider leaving a matching one before they're done. The fact that he's voluntarily beneath her makes this so much easier and she's not about to let their position flip, not yet. She captures his lips with hers and uses the force of the kiss to ensure he stays right where he is. ]

[ Very fiercely: ]

A body is nothing without spirit.

[ Something he believes very honestly, excuse you. (It still very much helps that she has a lovely body, oh yes ... He'd love to see more of it.) Any further comments are swallowed up by the kiss. Just as earnest as before, maybe even a little bit needy. He could stand to be pinned to the ground a little harder. ]

[ That wasn't at all what she meant, but it's not enough to make her break the kiss to argue. Maybe another time.

It's hard to fell out exactly what he even likes. She can only assume his lack of complaints are a good thing. Her fingers tangle up in what little hair she can grab, tightening her hold as her teeth graze his lips in an unspoken question. The nip earlier hadn't evoked a negative response as far as she could tell.

While she waits for some show of preference, she experiments with resting more of her body against him, careful to keep it light and using her free arm to hold most of weight. He's so small and this only makes it more obvious. ]

[ He's so eager to please her that he probably couldn't tell her what he likes, even if she asked. But the roughness - that makes his breath hitch, and a sigh escape him as her teeth scrape skin. And the more he can feel her over him the more flushed his face gets. Miles very much enjoys being the smaller party - fortunate, since he's probably never actually going to have a relationship with someone who's smaller.

He finally just pulls her in as close as he can, one hand moving to fist in the front of her shirt as the other goes to the back of her head. ]

[ She can feel the heat radiating from his cheeks and she can't help but smirk into the kiss. That's as close to a 'yes' as she'll get like this and she breaks up each kiss with occasional nips, eventually daring to bite harder if he reacts positively. If she breaks skin she'll pull back some on her assault.

Then there's that show of force of his own and she gladly settles in more firmly against him. He knows better how much body weight he can handle and nothing's cracked yet. ]

[ He's practiced, in fact, and thank god for that. He'd broken something the first time he'd tried to have sex - and the next two times after. Those had been unpleasant to explain to the ImpMil doctors ... He's careful to brace himself so as not to have all of her weight on top of him, and subtly shifts her if he feels too much pressure on a particular bone.

Otherwise he is furiously making out with a hot mercenary woman on the beach. Miles is very, very happy with this development, even - especially when she draws a bit of blood. Eventually, though, this is going to get to be rather too much for him to bear without being able to ... er, relieve himself at the end. He slows ever so reluctantly. ]

[ This close to him, it's hard not to notice where quite a bit of his blood is rushing. It was part of why she'd given him that warning, so there was no question where her line was.

When she feels him slowing in intensity, she pulls back enough to get a good look at his face and reaches to thumb gently at the cut on his lip. ] Getting hot under the collar?

[ He is beyond flushed, just completely red. Reddening even more so as her thumb brushes across his lip. ]

Afraid so. My apologies, you are just - exciting.

It's a good color on you.

[ It'll be hard to forget the look on his face next time she sees him. With some reluctance, she slides off of him, rolling onto the blanket beside him. Teasing: ] You've got that lean-to of yours if you need a moment.

[ Now he looks embarrassed, his face screwing up a bit. ]

I couldn't do that. Go off and - during the date, goodness. Rude in the extreme.

[ She elbows him, lightly of course. ] So you do have some shame.

[ There's a brief pause as she watches him out of the corner of her eyes. He's certainly different. Her focus shifts skyward as she says something that rarely crosses her lips. ] Thanks for setting this up.
