[ She snickers and moves to get up, but not before snapping a quick shot of his face with graphite on it. ]

Yeah, you're just getting more pencil on your face. Let me get you something to clean it off with.

She says, fully meaning it, ] I hope you get out of there.

[He waves her on, the look of consternation giving to a mumbled "A harder lead would negate the issue entirely."]

[ That earns him another snicker as she heads out. She's gone for only a moment before returning with a dampened paper towel. ]

[He nods at that.]

I'll make arrangements for proper supplies in that time.

If you need to leave, you can. [ She glances over at him. ] But I wouldn't mind the company for lunch.

[ And maybe she'll go in after all once they finish. Going home doesn't feel right. ]

[He gives a slight smile at that.]

I haven't eaten yet, either. There seemed to be a few decent places near by.

[He takes it, and DOES manage to get most of it blind, for a wonder.]

[ She shakes her head, thoroughly amused as she watches him. ]

He doesn't answer immediately, but nods to the building, a small delicatessen by all indication.]

[He brows pinch, and he frowns deeply, after a few swipes at his face, and puts aside the pad to get up and find a mirror.]

[ She barely glances at the exterior of the building before she's making her way inside. She keeps her eyes forward and away from him. ]

[ She makes herself comfortable in her chair as she watches him. ]

You know it would have been a helluva lot easier to let me do it, right?

Yeah. I'm getting used to that, too. They could be lying about anything and you'd have no way to check up on them.

[Which is as close to "I was worried" as it was going to get. He nods to her, whether she sees the slight gesture or not, and makes his way to a table by the corner.]

[There's a vague, disgruntled noise at that.]

I'll need such attendance if I manage to get to an infirm age. There's no need to rush it.

[ She doesn't catch the gesture, but she catches the meaning of that simple phrase. If she up and vanishes one day, she knows people will track her down at least.

She slides into her seat and reaches for one of the napkins on the table to start folding. It's more to give her hands something to do than anything else. ]

[ Or that's what she thought armsmen were anyway. ]

Yeah, it's too easy to lie or hide your powers here. I think the government is the only organization with any sort of database on what we can all do.

[The menu didn't have a lot of dishes he was particularly familiar with, but he was nothing if not willing to try.]

[ She leans back in her seat and glances at the menu before making some quick decision. It doesn't matter what she gets in front of her, it's only for a distraction anyway. ]
